Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Founded upon the concept to provide the most caring education available, Straits International School (SIS) opened its doors in August 2012, beginning its life in a temporary campus in Penang and enrolling 17 students on the first day.

During its time at the temporary campus, the school was nevertheless awarded a 5-star rating by the Ministry of Education, highlighting the strength of the education offered at SIS. The move to the new campus allows SIS to build upon this excellent start and provide the bespoke facilities deserving of the excellent standards of teaching and learning. The new facilities include high quality Science, Music, and ICT Labs, a large library, an e-cafeteria, a futsal court, a swimming pool, and a multi-purpose hall. The school is located very strategically outside the Penang International Airport, with direct links to major roads allowing an easy commute for students and parents.

The growth of the school continues at pace, with an expectation to reach a maximum capacity of 800 students within two years. The school is also a member of the Association of International Malaysian Schools, and is regularly inspected by international bodies.
