The speed limit on state and federal roads will be reduced by 10kph, during Hari Raya.
According to the New Straits Times, speed limit on federal roads will be reduced to 80kph from 90km/h, while the speed limit on state roads will be reduced to 70km/h. The temporary speed limit will be effective from 12-26 August 2012.
The temporary speed limit would be enforced by the Road Transport Department and police. This is to ensure road safety and also to reduce road accidents this festive season.
There will also be a ban on heavy vehicles, such as cement lorries, from the roads on 17, 18,25 and 26 August.
