The Volkswagen Group recently launched the latest Volkswagen Beetle at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre last week.
Keeping to its winning formula, the new car retains the classic silhouette and appeal of the original Beetle, in a modern package. The original Beetle model was launched in 1938.
The new Volkswagen Beetle, styled by Volkswagen chief designers, Walter de Silva and Klaus Bischoff, is significantly lower, wider and longer. This gives the car more space inside with a bigger boot space too.
The two-door car can easily fit four adults comfortably. The car is powered by a 1.2-litre TSI turbocharged engine with 105PS and 175Nm of torque coupled to a 7 speed Direct Shift Gearbox that provides the car with quick gear shifting and brisk performance.
Get ready to go for a wild ride because the acceleration claims to go from 0-100kph in 10.9 seconds, with a top speed of 180kph. But don’t worry about spending too much of petrol, as the car returns a low fuel consumption of 5.9 litres per 100km.
The new Volkswagen Beetle retails at RM139,888, and is available in candy white, tornado red, Saturn yellow, reflex silver, deep black, platinum grey and graciosa brown.
