Sri Lankan Airlines Wins KLIA Award for Sixth Time

Sri Lankan Airlines received the title of Best Airline Operator from South Asia for the sixth time, at the annual Kuala Lumpur International Awards 2011 which recognizes the finest airlines operating into Malaysia.

Sri Lankan’s Head of Service Delivery Chanaka Olagama said: “Sri Lankan has won this award in six of the seven years that it has been presented. This is indeed an extraordinary achievement by our team in Kuala Lumpur and our worldwide sales team.”

Wajira Perera, Sri Lankan’s Regional Airport Service Manager – Pacific Rim & India, said: “Kuala Lumpur International Airport is one of the finest airports in the world, and Sri Lankan’s performance there is a clear indicator of our airline’s dedication to quality service.”

Sri Lankan, which is a member-elect of the prestigious airline alliance one world, has a global route network of 60 destinations in 33 countries. It now has a relatively young and modern fleet with the addition of several new aircraft in 2011/12.

It operates Airbus A320 aircraft to between Kuala Lumpur and Colombo 14 times a week.
