The SMART tunnel (Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel) is currently closed due to flash floods in the Klang Valley.
The tunnel was closed since Monday, and is expected to re-open tomorrow if all goes well.
The downpour on Monday (26 November) was said to be the worst of the month. Although the plan is to open the tunnel to traffic tomorrow, officials are on high alert as it was predicted to rain almost every evening.
According to the New Straits Times, the cost of cleaning the tunnel is estimated at RM3000, 000 with repair and restoration works at RM500, 000 each time the tunnel is shut.
