The New Straits Times reports that Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (MRT Corp) announced there will be a night closure of the right-most lane on Jalan Damansara on both directions; Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya bound.
This will start today, and go on for seven weeks until 31 January 2013. The timing for the closure is between 11pm-5am every day, except Friday, Saturday and on the eve of public holidays.
Not to worry though, as the closure will be carried out in stages along the 4km stretch, beginning from the KFC fast food joint at Taman Tun Dr Ismail, to the Indah Water Konsortium Sewerage Treatment in Taman Tun Dr Ismail.
This closure, according to the article, is to facilitate piloting works in preparation for utilities relocation and construction of MRT piers in the road median.
Motorist can rest assured that there will be an efficient traffic management system to make sure there is minimal hassle for road users. There will be safety barriers, traffic cones and traffic flagmen stationed at the work site to warn motorist of the on-going construction.
