Small but cozy, The Garden Nail Spa offers the latest breakthroughs in maintaining natural and healthy nails. As I walked in I was greeted warmly by the efficient staff and offered a seat in one of the plush, oversized chairs. I was there to have my nails done and was told that I would get to experience the latest in nailcare products: Gelish, which is part of the Harmony range of nail products. Gelish is the latest trend in nail care, a great alternative to acrylic nails and tips. It lasts for as long as 3 weeks to a month, thus it has been a popular option especially for people who don’t have ti
me to visit the salon once a week.
I chose a French manicure and the staff picked a lovely pink base, with glitter. A wide range of more traditional matte colours are also available. Once I was seated, and after the usual round of buffing and cleaning, a first layer was applied as base. To enhance the longevity of Gelish, an LED light is used which is faster than UV lights. This was followed by my hands being placed in the LED light for 10 seconds. This step is repeated throughout the process, between every layer of Gelish to “cure” it. The Gelish manicure costs RM100 for nails and RM130 for toes and it is a great investment, as you don’t need to keep coming in for a touch up. I loved the end result – my nails look great and feel healthy and strong. Customers who choose Gelish can return to have their nails restored to their original condition, free of charge.
The Harmony range of products is also said to be a healthier option because it is free of the chemicals that can usually be found in other brands. It is recommended for pregnant women and children, as it is free of camphor and formaldehyde.
In line with their emphasis on healthy nails, Garden Nail Spa offers a product for fungus treatment, priced at RM98. Manicures are priced at RM45 while pedicures are priced at RM60. If you do both treatments together, it will cost you RM98. Nail art is also available, starting at the price of RM4 per nail depending on the design; the more complex it is, the more it will cost. Garden Nail Spa is also offering one free treatment when you purchase five treatments.
