Early this month, Malaysia Airlines (MAS) and Airbus marked a major milestone in aviation history, when Airbus handed over its 100th A380 aircraft to Malaysia’s national carrier. This is MAS’s sixth A380.
The delivery was made at Airbus’ Henri Ziegler Delivery Centre in Toulouse, France.
Now in its sixth year of commercial service, the A380 is flying with nine world-class airlines. To date, the worldwide fleet has carried some 36 million passengers in 100,000 flights.
The A380 can typically seat 525 passengers in three different classes. It can fly up to 8,500 nautical miles or 15,700 kilometres non-stop.
