Starting tomorrow, motorists can park their cars in Sunway Damansara (in the available parking bays, of course) for a maximum of two hours only.
The new time limit will hopefully overcome traffic congestion and the lack of parking bays at the area. Right now, motorists are double and even triple parking because there are no available parking bays. The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) is hoping that the imposed parking time-limit will ensure that nobody hogs the parking bays.
The new system will go through a trial period first to see if it is viable. It will only be implemented in other areas if it proves to be successful. The council is also hoping that the new system will help prevent problems when new development projects began, as both Sunway and the Tropicana area will be carrying out development projects soon.
