TripAdvisor is going social. But what exactly does this mean? Imagine an interface like Facebook that’s filled entirely with travel, restaurant, and experiences reviews. It sounds pretty cool to us. Members can ‘follow’ friends and their preferred travel experts which include publishers, brands, and social media influencers to stay updated for their content. TripAdvisor will essentially become the world’s first ‘travel feed.’

Although the big update is still in Beta, there are already more than 500 launch partners comprising parties like National Geographic, the Travel Channel, Business Insider, GoPro, PopSugar, The Knot, Giada De Laurentiis, and Travel Babbo, to name a few.

As one of the world’s largest travel site, members of TripAdvisor can now look forward to a more personalised and connected travel community. It will also be easier for members to plan and book any travel-related item within TripAdvisor with the help of social assistive tools, on top of the relevant advice and information from experts they trust.

If you’re familiar with the Google Trips concept, you will soon be able to do it on TripAdvisor. Your Trip can comprise in-depth travel guides, itineraries, or even be a simple wish list of things to do while at the destination. Trips can be made private or shared with the community for inspiration.
