Les Misérables by ISP KL
- This event has passed.
It is the longest running musical in the West End, London; and it is the second longest running musical production in the world! Based on Victor Hugo’s 1862 novel, Les Misérables tells this enriching story of redemption, moral philosophy, social justice, and human rights through incredible song and drama. This epic, grand, and uplifting modern classic of love, hope, and grace is beautifully told with one of the most memorable scores of all time.
Set in early 19th-century France, Les Misérables is the story of Jean Valjean, and his desire for redemption after serving nineteen years in jail. Reentering a world with mistrust and mistreatment, Valjean decides to break his parole and start his life anew. He endures a lifelong struggle for freedom as he is relentlessly tracked down by a police inspector named Javert. Along the way, Valjean and a significant amount of other characters are swept into a revolutionary period in France, where a group of young idealists attempt to overthrow the government. With a full cast completely comprised of students (aged 12-18), ISP has undertaken this exciting monumental task to present the world’s most popular musical this December holiday! It is a rare opportunity for Les Misérables to be staged in Malaysia.
