No Black Tie, in its 21-year existence in Kuala Lumpur as a musical institution sustaining the vibrant jazz scene in the capital city, has been appointed by Sarawak Tourism Board to organise this year’s Borneo Jazz Festival in Miri, Sarawak, held on July 19 – 21, 2019.
Hailed as one of the longest running jazz festivals in the region, this year marks The Borneo Jazz Festival’s 14th edition.
Alongside internationally renowned jazz artists the likes of Kirk Lightsey (USA), Chanda Rule (USA), Alberto Marsico (Italy), and IRESON (Mexico), there will be regional favourites such as Jasmine Chen from Shanghai (of Crazy Rich Asians fame), Fox Capture Plan (Japan), as well as Malaysian hip-hop stars Joe Flizzow and ARABYRD. Also look out for live sets played by DJ Maestro from Amsterdam.
