The Artisans Haven, a digital mall set up during the Movement Control Order period for local entrepreneurs, creators, and emerging businesses, is set to make waves with the latest handmade creations.
With many business owners being pushed onto digital platforms due to physical limitations brought on by the pandemic, The Artisans Haven has cultivated a supportive environment for people to hone their online marketing skills.
Support local businesses at The Artisans Haven where you will find exquisite and affordable products and handicrafts such as handmade masks, handbags, clutch bags, scarves, and twillies for bags by GoCHeeKS; or designer jewellery by award winning designer Tina Winness, and diamond jewellery of the Grafiti Angel range.
You will also find top quality paper stationery at Vive, magic frames, and creative wood products by Asian Esteem, scented candles from Candle Pit Stop, exclusive phone covers from Bling Bling Paradise, and so much more. At Grafiti Angel, more fancy shaped diamonds will be coming up in the year ahead, as seasonal and younger buyers increasingly favour different shapes of diamonds.
GoCHeeKS is launching, among others, a Chinese New Year angpow bag wristlets and a patchwork LEDenim silk-satin crystals clutch 2021 series; and Tina Winness will be introducing a mask pendant necklace based on the masquerade mask tradition.
Hobbies that have grown into businesses include that of Sweet House Bakery where founder Jescar Yu was initially making cakes for her three children and enjoyed it so much that she started a home business, baking after hours.
Fascinated by the intricacy of batik making, husband and wife Shariff Mohamad Noor and wife Erna Idayu have launched a successful fashion line ‘lovebyerna,’ featuring modern designs using traditional fabric. With the aim of further helping these worthy artisans, founders Jade Lee and Rosalie Lin have plans for more features, promotions, and partnerships to make the hub an even greater success.
From 30 artisans in May when the idea of setting up this digital mall was first introduced, the online tenancy has grown by 230% to a whopping 100. With the support of good patrons, and no shortage of talent in the market, prospects look bright for The Artisans Haven.
