Malaysians continue to shine on the world stage! Actor Christopher Lee dedicates his latest win to his wife Fann Wong and son Zed.
Born and raised in Malacca (Melaka), Malaysian actor Christopher Lee Meng Soon has made quite a name for himself since moving to the entertainment scene in Singapore. At 50 years old, Lee’s professional experiences include hosting and singing, as well as acting under his management team, Catwalk Production House.
Spouse to one of Singapore’s biggest exports to Hollywood, model turned actress and singer Fann Wong, Lee is no stranger to the bright lights of fame having just won his second Golden Bell Award — Taiwan’s equivalent to the Emmy Awards for television productions.
Lee took home the Best Actor award in a Miniseries or Television Film for his performance in Workers (a HBO Asia series) at the awards that was held in Taipei on Saturday, October 2.
Workers won big at the awards ceremony with Lee’s co-star, Simon Hsueh bagging the Best Supporting Actor award in the Miniseries or Television Film category. The series about a group of happy-go-lucky blue-collar workers ended up with the Best Miniseries Award as well, and is the first drama where Lee performed mainly in Taiyu (Taiwanese Hokkien).
Lee’s previous Golden Bell award in 2014 was also for Best Actor in a Drama Series for the family drama A Good Wife.
Celebrating and accepting his win at the world-famous Marina Bay Sands hotel, Lee expressed how happy he was and thanked the cast, crew, and his family.
“I want to thank my wife, Fann, and my son, Zed. In particular, I’m really thankful to my wife. It is because of your dedication and your unconditional support that I feel at ease acting and filming dramas outside.”
