With 72 years of history and accredited by the Council of International Schools, GIS is one of the oldest and most prestigious schools in Malaysia.
As a parent, choosing where to send your child to school is one of the biggest decisions to make. Getting into the right school can make all the difference for your child’s education. That’s why it’s important for you to attend a School’s Open Day to gauge whether the school is an ideal fit for your child.
Garden International School (GIS) is having its Open Day for Early Years (Nursery & Reception) and Primary & Secondary (Year 1 to Year 13) in February 2023. With 72 years of history and accredited by the Council of International Schools, GIS is one of the oldest and most prestigious schools in Malaysia.
Here are top 3 reasons why you should attend our GIS Open Day.
1. SEE TEACHING & LEARNING IN ACTION
GIS runs its Open Days during school hours so you can get a ‘behind the scenes’ look at how its diverse group of students from 65 different nationalities learn and thrive at the school.
GIS is known for providing a nurturing environment for its students to flourish in a rich culture of learning. From its Early Years Learning thru Play Programme to its Sixth Form GIS Electives Programme, GIS students are inspired to become lifelong learners with inquiring minds and a thirst for knowledge. Step into any classroom, and you’ll get a first-hand glimpse into the rapport between classmates and listen to how students and teachers talk about their learning and progress.
As you walk the corridors alongside the students, you can see all areas of the school in action, with students and teachers learning together inside classrooms, outdoors on the sports pitch,, and also making the most of specialist spaces like music rooms, design and technology rooms and science labs. It can be noisy, but you get to experience the hustle and bustle of GIS’s daily routine.
Mr Michael Bardsley, Principal at Garden International School says: “On our Open Day, we want families to see what GIS is truly like, and to feel part of our school for that morning. There are no rehearsals or staged lessons, just everyday GIS life at its busiest and happiest.”
2. MEET TEACHERS, STUDENTS, AND PARENTS
GIS has consistently produced well-rounded students who have gone on to attend the world’s top universities. So, during GIS Open Day, you can speak with the teachers and staff to learn more about the school’s curriculum, assessments, daily routines and learning culture.
GIS’s best ambassadors are its students. That’s why our on-campus tours allow you to see a first-hand experience of student life at the school during our Open day. You can also grab the chance to mix and mingle with other parents and teachers to answer any of your queries. What extracurricular activities are available? Is there a bus to where we live? How is the cafeteria food? They’ll be happy to help you with any questions you have.
3. SAVE MONEY
During February 2023, GIS is offering a special promotion with 100% Application Fee waiver* (worth RM1,300) and 50% off Registration Fees* (worth RM 5,000- RM10,000) for applications submitted before 28 February 2023. *Terms and Conditions apply.
