The change will affect CIMB customers using its mobile banking option from June 11, as Clicks will be replaced by CIMB Octo.
CIMB Bank Bhd has announced that it will discontinue support for its well-known CIMB Clicks mobile banking app starting June 11, after which the app will no longer be available for download from app stores.
Customers are encouraged to switch to the CIMB Octo app, although the existing CIMB Clicks website, accessible via desktop and browser, will remain unaffected by this change.
According to an FAQ page on CIMB’s website, customers will still be able to perform online banking transactions using the old CIMB Clicks app, though it is unclear how long this functionality will continue.
The CIMB Octo app, introduced in August 2022, is designed to enhance user experience with innovative functionalities and greater customization options. It is available for download on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei App Gallery. CIMB has assured that existing users of the CIMB Clicks mobile app can still perform online banking transactions for now, but they recommend shifting to the Octo app to take full advantage of its enhanced features.
