Passengers departing from Kuala Lumpur can conveniently check in and drop off their luggage in the city centre, indulge in last-minute shopping, and then comfortably make their way to the airport via the KLIA Ekspres.
Cathay Pacific is set to resume its in-town check-in service at KL Sentral from June 4, 2024. This service, previously suspended due to the pandemic, allows passengers to check in and drop off their luggage in the city centre before heading to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) via the KLIA Ekspres.
Passengers can enjoy the convenience of in-town check-in, making it easier to do some last-minute shopping in Kuala Lumpur before a stress-free journey to the airport. The check-in counters at KLIA Ekspres Departure Hall in KL Sentral Station are open daily from 5.45 am to 3.45 pm, closing two hours before the scheduled departure time. This service is available for passengers with a valid KLIA Ekspres ticket who are traveling on the same day. The KLIA Ekspres, running every 20 minutes, ensures a swift 28-minute journey to KLIA.
Robbie Blackwood, Cathay Pacific Country Manager for Malaysia, stated: “We are absolutely thrilled to be back with our in-town check-in services right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Customer-centricity is our focus, and it begins even before our passengers board our flights. This service provides greater convenience and flexibility for our passengers as they can plan to make good use of their time before departing from Kuala Lumpur. They can also look forward to bypassing any rush hour congestion and airport queues for a much more seamless and stress-free travel experience.”
ERL Chief Executive Officer, Puan Noormah Mohd Noor, added: “We are delighted to welcome Cathay Pacific back to our in-town flight check-in facility at KL Sentral. Loyal passengers have been requesting this service since the pandemic, and with our ridership growing, it is timely for Cathay Pacific to offer this convenience. This collaboration underscores our commitment to enhancing passenger experience and providing seamless travel solutions.”
