Empowering Female Entrepreneurs in Malaysia and Indonesia

The three-day event in Kuala Lumpur aims to boost the profile of women in business while strengthening bilateral ties between Indonesia and Malaysia.

The Indonesian Women’s Business Association (IWAPI) will hold its annual working event, IWAPI RAKERNAS III, in Kuala Lumpur from September 23 to 25, 2024. This year’s theme, “The Strategic Role of Women Entrepreneurs in Sustainable Development Towards a Golden Indonesia,” aims to empower and inspire female entrepreneurs in Indonesia and Malaysia.

Taking place at Sunway Putra Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, the event will bring together around 1,000 IWAPI members, including government officials, to explore business opportunities and strengthen ties between the two neighbouring countries.

As Indonesia’s largest and oldest women’s business association, IWAPI boasts over 40,000 registered members across all 34 provinces. The three-day event is designed to provide female entrepreneurs with networking opportunities, educational workshops, and mentorship aimed at helping them thrive in today’s competitive business environment.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

  • The IWAPI National Meeting and plenary session will kick off the event, with speeches by key leaders such as Madam Ir. Nita Yudi, MBA, Chairperson of IWAPI, and Mr. M. Arsjad Rasjid P.M., Chairman of KADIN Indonesia.
  • An exhibition and bazaar will allow attendees to explore various products, along with hands-on workshops.
  • Expert panel discussions will focus on strengthening Indonesia-Malaysia bilateral cooperation, while multiple networking sessions will provide opportunities for business matching.
  • The event will conclude with a gala dinner and fashion show featuring designers from both Malaysia and Indonesia.

Datin Nany Rusyamsi, President of IWAPI in Malaysia, expressed her excitement for the event, stating, “We are thrilled to host this event in Kuala Lumpur as it represents a crucial step towards empowering Indonesian women entrepreneurs not only here but globally. We hope to inspire and enable women to achieve their full potential in the business world.”

Founded in 1975, IWAPI remains committed to elevating the role of women in the economy, offering training, mentorship, and advocacy to women entrepreneurs across Indonesia and Malaysia.
