Kuala Lumpur-based charitable brand Badass Monkies, in partnership with local women’s organizations, recently concluded a highly successful soap drive to help those in need.

Badass Monkies (BAM), a charitable fashion brand based in Kuala Lumpur, recently wrapped up a successful soap drive in collaboration with several local women’s associations. The initiative was spearheaded by BAM’s founder, Natasha Francis, along with Debbie O’Neil, President of the Association of British Women in Malaysia (ABWM), Sherrie Aljunied-Eitler, President of the International Women’s Association Kuala Lumpur (IWAKL), and Violette Tan, Co-Director of Helping Hands Penang.

This soap drive was specifically aimed at helping underprivileged individuals, particularly women and refugees in Malaysia, who often lack access to basic hygiene products. With a desire to collect small bars of soap to upcycle, nobody knew just how successful the initiative would ultimately be.

The drive culminated in a final drop-off on October 24, yielding an impressive collection: 8,000 bars of soap, along with 100 toothbrushes, 50 tubes of toothpaste, and dozens of face towels and sanitary products. These essential items will be distributed to vulnerable communities, including refugees and inmates in local prisons, through BAM’s ongoing partnership with humanitarian organizations like the Catholic Prison Fellowship Association and Helping Hands Penang, co-directed by Violette Tan.

The success of this soap drive reflects the core mission of Badass Monkies – supporting communities in need while merging fashion with philanthropy. Through their efforts, BAM continues to make a difference, engaging the public in tangible acts of compassion.
