Currently in stable condition, the 65-year-old politician continues to receive medical attention at Sunway Medical Centre in Kota Damansara.
Former Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, 65, was hospitalised early Saturday after collapsing at his Damansara residence. He was found unconscious and rushed to Sunway Medical Centre in Kota Damansara at approximately 2:30 am. His press secretary, Azran Fitri Abdul Rahim, confirmed that Ismail Sabri is currently in stable condition.
Ismail Sabri served as Malaysia’s ninth prime minister from August 2021 to November 2022. He has been the Member of Parliament for Bera, Pahang, since 2004. Before his political career, he was a practising lawyer and held directorial positions in various government agencies, including the Southeast Pahang Development Authority (DARA) and the Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board.

In March 2023, Ismail Sabri underwent a minor surgical procedure at Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM). Despite stepping down as prime minister, he has remained active in politics, continuing to serve as the MP for Bera and as the division chief of Bera Umno. He has dismissed rumours of retirement, affirming his commitment to his constituents and party responsibilities.
The news of his sudden hospitalisation has prompted an outpouring of support and well-wishes from political colleagues and the public. As of now, no further details regarding his health status have been released.
