The Expat Wine Dinner at Pietro Ristorante Italiano

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Guests didn’t need much persuasion to enter into the cosy yet classy Italian eatery Pietro for the November Wine Dinner, where Italian music complemented the fine Italian fare that was on the menu.

Off to a fine start thanks to the Tian Alaska Crab with Avocado (and a dash of caviar) that melded its tastes with a glass of Leopard’s Leap Classic Chenin Blanc, the piping bowls of Roasted Garlic Soup topped with Cheese Crostini that followed were enjoyed with the Leopard’s Leap Classic Cabernet Merlot.

Main courses were a choice of two, although no one was disappointed as both the Angus Fillet topped with Blue Cheese Crumble and the Sea Barramundi in a Tomato Broth were winning options. The wine serrved depended on the choice of entrée, and steak eaters enjoyed La Motte Shiraz while fishy nibblers were served the Chardonnay from the same brand.

The Italians certainly know how to make sinful yet comforting desserts, and the Ricotta Almond Tart that ended the meal came topped with Butterscotch Sauce and melted even the hardest of hearts. It may have been humid KL outdoors, but inside Pietro all our guests were luxuriating in Europe’s most delicious country!
