Located on a beautiful 12-acre campus in Bandar Rimbayu, Selangor, OIS offers a U.S. Education for students in kindergarten to 12th grade. OIS is part of the Oasis International Schools Network, a non-profit organization that is “committed to establishing and maintaining American-style, English-speaking international schools around the world.” Oasis’ network stretches across the world with schools in 16 different countries and has created a legacy of academic excellence, prestigious college acceptance, and successful alumni. As a school in this network, OIS strives to instill in each student a passion for truth, a commitment to excellence, and an appreciation for diversity while creating an educational environment that cultivates the Oasis Way of character, leadership, and innovation.

At OIS, the teachers make the difference!

All OIS teachers, with the exception of the foreign language teachers, have completed a rigorous course of study to obtain U.S. certifications in their respective subject areas. In addition, every teacher has experience teaching in American or international schools and completes ongoing professional learning throughout the year. However, the teachers aren’t just qualified, they’re caring too! OIS teachers love their students and have the necessary skills to help their students reach their potential for success. OIS can provide a rewarding educational experience for your child using the U.S. Education model. Classes are rooted in content that aligns with American standards and integrates P21’s Framework for 21st Century Learning skills. By combining the standards and P21’s Framework for 21st Century Learning, teachers create an environment where your child is challenged academically, encouraged to think critically, and stimulated to be creative. Consequently, your child has the opportunity to become well-rounded and equipped with the skills for success in the classroom and in life.

OIS can also give your child a personalized learning experience.

Teachers use innovative technologies, flexible learning environments, and different teaching styles to differentiate instruction. For high school students, OIS offers the Advanced Placement (AP) Program. While this personalized learning experience will meet your child’s intellectual needs, Oasis’ holistic approach will also meet your child’s needs for social, physical, and moral development.

OIS offers an incredible Learning Support program, being the first international school in Malaysia to adopt The Arrowsmith Program. Using the Arrowsmith Program, Learning Support at OIS focuses on helping students with academic and cognitive difficulties by strengthening weak cognitive capacities. The hope is that students are equipped with the tools needed to become self-directed, confident learners in the general education classroom. The Arrowsmith Program is a brain-based approach founded on neuroscientific research. Arrowsmith gets to the root of students’ learning difficulties by strengthening the weak cognitive capacities. Students in the Arrowsmith Program at OIS engage in up to four exercises each day. These programmed exercises are determined based on an extensive assessment which identifies current levels of functioning in cognitive areas that most impact learning. Each exercise is chosen based on the student’s unique cognitive profile, focusing on the most fundamental and higher order cognitive functions. After completing the three to four year program with Arrowsmith, students should be able to rejoin the general education classroom full time with little to no extra support.

OIS also has a tiered English Language Learning Program. Their goal is to provide students learning English with the best instruction, strategies, and skills in their academic and personal development in a challenging and supportive environment. The English Language Learning (ELL) Program supports the student’s grade-level education with pull-out instruction and collaboration with content and homeroom teachers. The program focuses on developing basic interpersonal communication skills (BICS) and cognitive academic language proficiency (CALP). The ELL programs uses WIDA (World Class Instructional Design and Assessment) to obtain information about what the individual student can do. This information is used in entrance procedures, used to determine proficiency and progress, and aids in determining eligibility of graduation out of the ELL program.

In addition, Oasis offers a competitive sports program and extracurricular activities to promote students’ physical health. The offerings include Eagles Landing—a fully-equipped CrossFit gym, volleyball, basketball, badminton, soccer, and more.
