Metro Tabernacle presents ‘The Christmas Post’ musical
- This event has passed.
Metro Tabernacle, an Assemblies of God church will be staging a dramatic musical called “The Christmas Post”.
“The Christmas Post” takes the audience back to post-war America, where ordinary people are working to make ends meet and are struggling to hold on to the belief that miracles can happen to turn their situations around for the better.
The day is Christmas Eve of 1947 and the story centres on Alice Garfield, a young World War II widow who is desperately trying to earn a few extra bucks to buy presents for her two young children by taking on a seasonal job at Herzog’s department store. The Christmas Post musical chronicles an important day in the life of her citizens at
Herzog’s. At the end of the Christmas Eve shopping day, Alice and the townfolk learn a few lessons of faith.
Featuring a 200-strong cast and crew, “The Christmas Post” is a heart-warming, energetic and fun musical that will both delight and entertain. It delivers a universal theme of faith in difficult times; a message that is just as relevant today as it was in 1940’s, regardless of the cultural context.
