The St. Patrick’s Society of Selangor was founded in June, 1925. Our members are Irish people residing in Malaysia, descendants of Irish people in Malaysia and the many, many friends of Ireland who share an interest in Ireland’s culture and its people.
The main feature of the year for the Society is the St. Patrick’s Ball which is held each March. The ball has been held at The Shangri La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur for the past few years and it is regarded as one of the highlights of the year in the Malaysian social calendar.
Throughout the year the Society also organises quizzes, pub nights, adults and children’s parties as well as working closely with the Irish embassy in KL to promote all things Irish in Kuala Lumpur.
