What brought you to Malaysia and how long have you been here?
I came to Malaysia because of business opportunities and because I wanted a change of lifestyle, plus my father has been a resident here in Malaysia for 22 years and is now happily retired in Kuching. My 18-year-old son has been racing jet skis here since 2010 and is the Malaysian World Jet Race Endurance Champion 2011.
What do you like and dislike about Malaysia?
Likes? Wow! Food, people, the hospitality; just everything! I don’t have any dislikes, I even find the motorcycles fun.
Name three places you would take an overseas visitor.
Eating, drinking, and jet skiing at Tasik Biru.
Name three typical weekend activities that you enjoy?
Too many really. I enjoy Kuching, but a weekend in Penang is pretty good.
What’s your favourite restaurant and bar in Malaysia?
There are just too many! I love eating roti canai for breakfast and as a late night snack.
Do you own property here? If so, where? If not, why?
We are currently renting a condo at Solaris Dutamas (Publika) but looking for a second home here in KL.
What do you miss about your home country?
My family and friends but not a lot else, what with petrol getting close to 7.50 GBP per gallon.
How long do you plan to stay in Malaysia?
Ideally long term, just like my father.
Is Malaysia a good place to bring up children?
I would say yes. Having spent my late teens growing up in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, I have had so many lifelong experiences that you can only experience by being here.
Is Malaysia a good place in which to do business?
Malaysia is a great place to work and do business. Networking and the social side of business is just great fun. I highly recommend it.
