Malaysia’s very first 3D animated film, War of the Worlds: Goliath, will soon show in Malaysian cinemas.
The Malaysian produced 3D movie will be making its local debut in November, after winning the Best 3D Animated Feature award at the Los Angeles 3D Film Festival last month. The movie not only won big at the international festival, but it also defeated popular Hollywood 3D movies such as Madagascar 3, Paranorman and Tinker Bell: Secret of the Wings. The movie was also shown at a special screening at the San Diego Comic Convention early this year, and received raved reviews from the audience who praised the creator’s futuristic concepts and impressive designs.
War of the Worlds: Goliath is an animated full feature film based on H.G. Wells’ science fiction classic, War of the Worlds. The movie centres on post-Martian invasion of earth in the year 1914. The plot is simple, mankind has to work hard to prevent and defend the earth from a second wave of alien invasion.
The movie took four years to make and is produced by Tripod Entertainment Sdn Bhd. It is directed by Joe Pearson and has voiceovers from Peter Whingfield, Marl Sheppard and Adam Baldwin. It also has voiceovers from local stars Tony Eusof and Asha Gill. The film’s voice producer is Malaysian, Gavin Yap.
War of the Worlds: Goliath will make its Malaysian debut in cinemas nationwide on 15 November 2012.
