What brought you to Malaysia?
I first came to Malaysia in 1998, and up until I moved here I had been often as tourist. I fell in love with the country thanks to its diversities and the fast improvements it is making. I was based in Paris and in Mauritius previously, but am now based in Kuala Lumpur.
What were your impressions of Malaysia before you came?
In the years since my last visit in March 2010, Kuala Lumpur has changed a lot, with much new infrastructure, new and renovated stations, and a lot of new local and international hotels.
How easily did you adapt to living in a new country?
I live quite simply, and I have worked and lived in different places and always adapted without any difficulties. The first thing I do when I arrive in a new place is to understand how local people are living.
What are the three things you like most about living in Malaysia?
I mostly like the public transport facilities such as the LRT, Monorail, KTM and RapidKL. If you use this kind of transportation it saves a lot of time that you can waste in traffic. I like the different kinds of traditional food, and I like the fact there are many cultures living together.
What three things do you wish you could change?
I would make it cleaner. I would like people to do things quickly and more rigorously. I would also change the traffic, safety, and security.
What do you like to do at the weekend?
I enjoy eating in new and different places and visiting new places. I enjoy family life, and I also enjoy playing sports.
How long do you think you will stay?
Hard to say…
What do you miss most about your home country?
Diving into the blue water.
