Your parking nightmares in Brickfields will soon be over. The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) is reportedly planning on building a seven-story car park on Jalan Sultan Abdul Samad, Brickfields. The is to help curb the shortage of parking for residents and for all those who frequently visit the area.

According to Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister, Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin, the car park is expected to be completed in May 2014, and would also have a multi-purpose hall (with a seating capacity of 500) with three badminton courts.

"The construction of the parking lot was on the request of residents and visitors around Brickfields to solve the problem of parking and traffic congestion in the area, “he told Bernama.

"Even though Brickfields is under the Bukit Bintang constituency which should be monitored by its MP, as the minister in charge, the government also looks after the problems and grievances of the people here."

The new car park will provide about 400 parking bays for cars and 48 bays for motorcycles.
