Safety Mobile Application Developed by Survivor

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

A little over a year ago, a former Internet Marketeer was kidnapped as she got into her car in a shopping mall parking lot. The two men used a cleaver to pin her down while threatening to rape her as they exited the parking lot in her car. Fortunately, the girl in question managed to escape from the car as it stopped at the exit of the car park.

Traumatised from that experience, she then decided to create a mobile application to help people who may land in similar situations. Called “Watch Over Me”, the mobile application allows one to register for an event. One will have to check in within a certain time period, if not, a message will be sent out to emergency contact numbers. The camera, voice recorder and GPS tracker on the ‘could-be’ victim’s phone will also be activated and automatically stored on servers.

At the moment, the app has been downloaded 40,000 times. Check your mobile app store to download “Watch over Me.”
