The next time you receive a missed call from an unknown number; do not call the number back as it may be a scam. The Star wrote that many people have been receiving missed calls from a strange number, and when they call the number back, they will be hit with a hefty phone bill.
The number to avoid is any number beginning with +375, +371 and +081.
The case is being investigated by the police at the moment. At this point, the only clue they have is that it is connected to a Premium Rate Service, which is a telephone service that provides recorded information or live conversation for callers. When you call the number back, your bill will automatically be charged, and you will only realise this when you receive your monthly bill.
If you have received missed calls from numbers beginning with +375, +371 and +081, do not call back, and it is best to inform the police.
