For the past one month, news portals have been buzzing with news of Lahad Datu. Along with the facts, there are many negative rumours circulating that Malaysia is at war. To clear things up, we have compiled a timeline of activities that has been happening since day one at Lahad Datu. This timeline will be updated as often as possible with facts from various valid news portals in Malaysia.
27 March, Security forces confirmed that Kampung Tanduo will be permanently closed. Kampung Tandou is the place where the Sulu intruders were first holed up when they first entered Sabah. Villagers from Kampung Tandou (currently at an evacuation centre) will be relocated to a new settlement soon. Part of the reason of the relocation is that the village has been badly destroyed after the intrusion.
28 March, Security forces and three Sulu intruders were involved in a shoot-out on the beach of Sungai Bilis, yesterday. No one was reported to be injured.
The security forces were patrolling the beach when they came across the three armed intruders. A shootout followed and the intruders retreated into a mangrove swamp. The security forces attempted to chase the intruders but lost track of them. They did, however, find their discarded weapons.
