Below are updates on Lahad Datu for 14 April 2013

For the past one month, news portals have been buzzing with news of Lahad Datu. Along with the facts, there are many negative rumours circulating that Malaysia is at war. To clear things up, we have compiled a timeline of activities that has been happening since day one at Lahad Datu. This timeline will be updated as often as possible with facts from various valid news portals in Malaysia.

14 April, Sabah and Sabah’s east coast is safe and free of intruders, says Armed Forces Chief, General Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zain.

According to the Chief, and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar, all threats to Sabah and Sabah’s east coast have been eradicated.

The number of soldiers in Lahad Datu will soon be reduced and relocated in stages to Semporna or other areas such as Sandakan.

But this does not mean it is the end of Ops Daulat for now, because the operation will in time be given to the Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM).
