George Town is in the limelight again this weekend. This time around, the historical town is the venue for a charity concert featuring local, international and regional artistes.
The concert, organised by the 1Malaysia Penang Welfare Club, will be at the Han Chiang School on Saturday. Seeing as it is a charity concert, a list of welfare organisations – that will be receiving the funds collected – will be announced on Friday.
The international stars performing on Saturday are; Busta Rhymes, Ludacris, Swizz Beats (Alicia Key’s husband), Redfoo from LMFAO, Grasshopper, Eric Woo and George Lam. Local singer Ning Baizura will also be performing.
For convenience of those attending, there will be a free shuttle service from several locations on the island and mainland to bring people to the event.
The concert will start at 3.30pm. Concert admission forms will be available in mainstream newspapers beginning today, until Saturday. The public will have to submit the forms with a copy of their identification card to designated ticketing outlets in Penang with a nominal fee of RM1.
Ticketing booths are located at Penang Times Square, Penang Plaza, Han Chiang School, Sunshine Farlim, Sunshine Square in Bayan Lepas, Tesco in Tanjung Tokong, Pacific Mega Mall in Prai and Tesco in Bukit Mertajam.
