The Kuantan Music Festival has been cancelled. Below is a press statement from the organisers addressing the situation. Read on to find out why it was cancelled, and how you can get a refund for your tickets.
“It is with great sadness that we have to announce that, due to the recent drug-related deaths at Future Music Festival’s “rave party” in Kuala Lumpur last week, the Kuantan Local Authorities under the instructions of the Pahang Chief Minister have now decided to cancel the licence for the Kuantan Music Festival due to be held on 4th & 5th April 2014 at Holiday Villa Cherating, despite there being very little similarity between the two events.”
“As the organisers of the Festival, we are devastated at the news but most of all we are sad for Kuantan, for Pahang and for the East Coast of Malaysia which will never be able to enjoy an event such as the Kuantan Music Festival with its programme of acoustic, blues, jazz, fusion and world music put together for all genuine music lovers and musicians to enjoy.”
“For the record, any report that the organisers of the Kuantan Music Festival are connected in any way to the organisers of the Future Music Festival is totally false and a misrepresentation which has ultimately led to the cancellation of this Festival.”
“We are thankful to all those who have worked with us on this amazing project, for the support we have received and for all the wonderful new friends we have made along the way.”
Best wishes to you all
