Twenty four areas in the Hulu Langat District may experience unscheduled water disruptions again. This is because of the depleting water in six main reservoirs, as the demand is higher than the supply capacity. The disruption will affect up to 33,446 houses.
The areas likely to experience these water cuts were Kampung Bahagia in Bangi, Taman Jernang Jaya, Nuclear Centre, Genom, UKM Lingkungan 2, Taman Wawasan, Section 14, Section 15, Section 16, Section 1, Section 2, and Section 5 Tambahan in Bandar Baru Bangi.
According to Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) corporate communication and public affairs general manager Priscilla Alfred, the depleted reservoirs in Bangi, Tasik Kesuma, Bandar Teknologi, Bangi Golf Course, Semenyih Baru, and Kajang Utama are receiving water from the Semenyih Water Treatment Plant, but the water treatment plant had reached its maximum capacity.
