Malaysia is apparently in the process of setting up the world’s first Halal CSI unit; the Halal Contamination Scene Investigation Unit.
According to Coconuts KL, the new unit will be set up to identify traces of pork DNA and any other forbidden, or haram, substances in products that are halal-certified.
The soon-to-be set up Halal CSI unit in Malaysia is in the process of being developed by the Malaysian Technological Park (TPM).
The Halal CSI unit is expected to be in operations in five years’ time.
