Located in the trendy Changkat Bukit Bintang area in the heart of the city, Latin Tropical Yoko’s popular blend of Colombian food and delicious wines kept guests happy well into the night. As diners arrived, they were greeted with glasses of Cronier Cuvée Brut sparkling wine. Eager to dig into some delicious Colombian fare, the evening of wining and dining began with the Cazuela de mariscos or Seafood Chowder with arroz con coco, a savoury coconut rice with toasted coconut and sweet raisins. Next up was the Ensalada de aguacate y tomate or Tomato and Avocado Salad which made for a nice pairing with the crisp and light De Martino Estate Sauvignon Blanc served that night. Featuring two types of empanadas and crispy Chicken carimanolas, the “mixed plate” comprised a wonderful blend of flavour and texture. Sitting alongside these goodies was the De Martino 347 Reserva Carmenere – the perfect red wine accompaniment! Perhaps no dish was more hotly anticipated than the Ceviche de camarón. The juicy prawn pieces left everyone wanting more. Rounding out the mains was the Bandeja paisa, a mix of red beans, white rice, chorizo, and avocado; followed by delectably soft Passionfruit Mousse. The salsa rhythms proved too irresistable for some, prompting a few guests to hit the dancefloor for a quick shimmy!
