A pair of Chinese pandas, Feng Yi and Fu Wa, will arrive in Malaysia soon. The pandas are on loan to Malaysia for 10 years, and are also a gesture from China to further develop their friendship with Malaysia. The pandas will be place in the Giant Panda House at the Kuala Lumpur National Zoo.

A grand welcoming ceremony will be held in the zoo once the pandas arrive, and, thanks to a naming contest, both pandas will be renamed.
Eight staff from the Malaysia Panda Museum were sent to study abroad, and to China, to visit and stay for a month with both pandas. This is to ensure that the pandas have everything they need and will stay healthy when in Malaysia. China will also send two of their own experts to Malaysia, to stay with the pandas, for three months.
The Malaysia Panda Museum occupies an area of 6,475 square meters and cost over 20 million Ringgit to build. The Museum has three main exhibition rooms, a gym, bedroom, kitchen, laboratory, veterinary clinic, brooder house, nursing and security room.
